Yesterday morning over 20+ Big Business Breakfasts were held across the UK in celebration of Global Entrepreneurship week. We were very honoured to host the Manchester City Centre breakfast alongside Robert Pink from Google. I was a bit concerned that Regus had signs up around the meeting room area regarding examinations taking place in the surrounding rooms and we needed to be quiet. Having hosted a number of networking and speed networking events I know that the last thing we would be is quiet. Networking events generate a lot of noise! Bringing this to the attention to the venue I was told that the examinations didn't start until the afternoon so we would not disturb anybody.
The focus of the event was about Getting British Business online and the tools offered by Google to achieve this. My focus was that its not just about having an online presence - its about having the right online presence with the right message, the right personality, the right level of functionality, the right visuals and to be customer focused. It is also important to know how to use your website to get crucial, factual marketing information to make good business decisions and to keep it up to date and content manage it yourself. Even though I say this myself, we made a great team!
Some strong connections were made during the morning and the noise was at expected levels. Even though we were scheduled to finish at 11 am many of us were still going strong at 1pm. It was such a good event many of the attendees have asked me to hold another event. Please let me know if you would be interested in joining us in the New Year.
